After decades of slumber, an architectural monument has been brought back to life that is unparalleled in Münster: The ice cellar of the former Beuing brewery in Altenberge. In 1996, the ice cellar in Altenberge was declared a listed building. Within the framework of the REGIONALE 2004, the extension measures and the construction of the information pavilion were carried out. The opening up of the ice cellar to the public and the construction of the “Eisscholle” information centre created a new cultural and tourist attraction in Münsterland.
