The former Haus Nottbeck manor was first mentioned in a document in 1366. After extensive conversion and renovation measures, the Haus Nottbeck cultural estate was created, the core of which is the Museum of Westphalian Literature, which opened in 2001. Here, Westphalian literature is turned into a special experience through concepts such as multimedia, installations, listening stations, hands-on activities and much more. The main house and the former farm buildings have been transformed into a complex that offers a wide range of possibilities for cultural events: the annual Nottbeck book market, readings, theatre and concert events, workshops, festivals or educational programmes for school classes reflect the range of offers.
